Abstract

Allah Taala has sent down the Holy Qur'an for the guidance of human beings and has laid down laws for the growth and guidance of all human beings until the Day of Resurrection. All these teachings were conveyed by the Holy Prophet to the people and he also interpreted the divine commands wherever he felt the need. Special attention was being paid to the sciences of the Quran during the time of the Prophet. Many scholars have written books on the topics of the sciences of the Quran, but Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti, has collected all the sciences of the Qur'an under the name of his most famous book Al-Itqan fi Uloom al-Qur'an. The incident about Prophet Jonah has also been specifically described and an attempt has been made to summarize the themes of Qass al-Quran.
