Abstract

This article presents a research-based and critical study of the beginning and evolution of radio in India, followed by an overview of its development. After exploring the reasons behind the introduction of radio in India and the collective nature of the writers and literary programs associated with it, the article also clarifies the state and nature of radio in India during the partition of India. In addition to highlighting the establishment and objectives of radio in Pakistan, the article also identifies the significant role played by radio in Kashmir during the warlike situation and in evoking a militant spirit.  Furthermore, the article presents a research-based and critical analysis of the efforts made by writers and playwrights associated with Radio Pakistan. This article provides a detailed overview of the beginning, evolution, and development of radio and radio drama in India and Pakistan, as well as the services rendered by writers.
