Orientalists have taken a keen interest in the study of Islam and the biography of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), which has resulted in scholarly work based on biography from various perspectives. However, their writings sometimes contain biases and misconceptions, which have been challenged by scholars in the Islamic world. Shibli Nomani and Sayyid Sulayman Nadwi have critically examined the biographical work of Orientalists and presented their research on the biography of the Prophet (peace be upon him) from an Islamic perspective. A comprehensive study was needed to challenge the biases and misconceptions in the research work of Orientalists on biography in a scholarly and objective manner. The aim of this study is to specifically study the biographical work of Shibli Nomani and Sayyid Sulayman Nadwi in order to critically evaluate the research of Orientalists and present the Islamic perspective effectively. This study has exposed the biases in the biographical work of Orientalists and highlighted the importance of the scholarly work of Shibli Nomani and Sayyid Sulayman Nadwi.
