Abstract

The summary of our research entitled (Ibn Jinni’s Two Grammatical and Interpretive Directions for the Anomalous Readings in his book Al-Muhtasib" is that in the book Al-Muhtasib, in explaining the aspects of the anomalous readings and explaining them, Ibn Jinni’s directions for a number of readings were mentioned with more than one direction, including directing the reading with a grammatical direction, sometimes he directs it with an interpretive direction, and sometimes he directs both grammatical and interpretive directions, such as predicate of a deleted subject. Clarifying the direction of the predicate is a grammatical direction, and clarifying the direction of deleting the subject is an interpretive direction. Interpretation includes deletion, advancement, delay, inclusion, and increase. As for grammar, it includes all grammatical issues except for the issues of interpretation. We worked hard to research the issues of the two directions (grammatical and interpretive), so we collected them and found that they constituted thirty places, as they were diverse issues, including predicate of a deleted subject and subject of a deleted predicate... so the plan of the topic consisted of two sections: the first is the issues that are singled out. It includes Ibn Jinni on those who came before him, and the second is the issues that Ibn Jinni followed those who came before him with, a conclusion, footnotes, and sources. As for the sources that we relied on, they are diverse, including books on the meanings of the Qur’an, Qur’anic grammar, commentaries, and grammar... The adopted method was descriptive, as we relied on analysis when necessary when the aspect does not fit the meaning or its direction with others, and so on. We ask God for success and guidance in the work...
