Pir Muhammad Karam Shah, Exegete of the Holy Quran, Orientalism, Spiritual Piety, VisualizationAbstract
With profound and sagacious insight into the contemporary issues of the Ummah, which is the prerequisite for an ideal exegete of the Holy Quran, Pir Muhammad Karam Shah (1918-1998) has no parallel in the entire literature of this genre. This analytical study presents an exploration of the unique characteristics of the holy Quran as debated by the exegetes of the Subcontinent. The objective of this study is to explore how the exegete, with his exclusive mastery, advocates for the cause of the Holy Quran among the people devastated by Orientalism. Salient interpretative ideals and the visualization of the spread on the canvas of Zia al-Quran is the range of this qualitative analytical methodology. As an inference from the research, this study also considers the moral ethics observed by the exegete in addressing the harsh objections of the critics of the Holy Quran. Depiction of Tasawwuf, spiritual piety, and emphatically expressed loftiness of the character of an ideal and practical Muslim is the main contribution of this study.
