The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Understanding and Interpreting Urdu Literature: Challenges and Possibilities

Abstract

Artificial intelligence is the most powerful and astonishing invention of contemporary science. It serves as a semi-alternative to real intelligence. Real intelligence is based on human imagination, human creativity, human thought, and reflection. Since artificial intelligence is machine-based, it is referred to as an alternative to real intelligence. It operates under the commands given by humans. It is not merely limited to the collection, classification, organization, and arrangement of data. Its scope extends to creative new performances based on a question or idea.Since artificial intelligence is a substitute for real intelligence and possesses creative capabilities, it can create literature based on a given question, idea, or concept. It can compose poetry, stories, short stories, essays, or any prose piece within moments.This is not limited to the creation of literature but also possesses the ability to understand, interpret, and elucidate literature. What is its critical methodology, and what are its individual and collective opinions about a literary genre or piece of art? To what extent does it have access from theoretical discussions of criticism to practical studies? In what contexts does it view a poem or piece of art, and what is its critical status? What principles does it hold regarding the evaluation of a piece of art? The answers to these questions, in the context of Urdu literature, are what this essay seeks to explore. Understanding this and examining the problems and possibilities that arise from the results of its critical methodology is the fundamental subject of this paper.
