The Poet of Restless Melody: A Critical and Research-Based Analysis of Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib's Poetic Style

Abstract

 In Urdu language and literature , countless poets have achieved universal status, but it is undisputable that a great poet like Mirza  Ghalib , ahead of his time, gave a thought that influenced the times in every century. Ghalib appears before us in the form of a thoughtful thinker. His observation about life and its various aspects hold fascinating insight. Various critics   merely speculate about life and its various aspects. His experiences and observations about life are everyone’s experiences. They make a person recognize a different humanity. This article examines the universal elements in Ghalib,s poetry that elevate him to the level of a universal poet. We find the simple things of life in simple words in Ghalib,s style. High imagination is everywhere and sometimes it reaches heights that are either very difficult or impossible for the reader to reach . Ghalib is a poet of brilliance in his art , unparalleled in his time and in the present century.
