The Causes of Escalating Trend of Suicide in Chitral, and Preventive Measures to Check the Menace in the Light of Quran and Sunnah

Abstract

Allah Almighty says in Holy Quran: There is no doubt that we have created man in the best form. Human life is a great blessing of Allah Almighty. We have been ordered to value it in the Quran and Hadith. In fact, we have both this life and this body as a keeper from Allah Almighty not as an owner. The owner of our bodies and souls is Allah Almighty. That is why suicide is not allowed in Islam. Unfortunately, there has been a significant increase in suicides in Chitral over the past years and most of the suicide victims are young girls. In this article, a brief introduction of Chitral is given, then reasons of suicide are discussed, and then the steps to check it has been explained and finally the research summary is given. If this research article is studied and implemented, suicide in Chitral can be mitigated to a great extent.
